Ryan Faulkner, CLF

Ryan started his New York Life career with the Alaska General Office in 2011 as an agent. Prior to New York Life, Ryan worked for the Red Robin Franchise in Alaska for 13 years and was the Vice President of Operations and an Officer in the company. After becoming a full-time agent, Ryan qualified for two consecutive Executive Councils1, was named Rookie of the Year, New Organization Agent of the Year, broke several office records, as well as qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table2.

In July 2013, Ryan was promoted to Partner with the Alaska General Office. He won several awards including three consecutive years as the Alaska Partner of the Year, 2 View from the Top awards, and was a two time Top 50 Partner.

In March 2017 Ryan and his family were given the opportunity to transfer to the West Texas General Office in Lubbock, Texas.  In 16 months he built a team of 15 agents again placing him among the top 50 Partners in the company and helped the West Texas General Office win a company record of 9 trophies in 2017.

In July 2018 Ryan was given the opportunity to be the Managing Partner of the North Dakota General Office in Fargo, North Dakota. During his tenure, Ryan promoted and trained two Partners while navigating the complexities of a pandemic that shape the way we do business today. In 2021, the North Dakota General Office won the Executive Vice Presidents Trophy for Management Development.

Ryan and his wife Becky have been married since 1999 and have three amazing children, their daughter Abigail, and sons Landen and Laken. Ryan is an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and marathon runner.

Jared Weber

Jared Weber started his financial services career with New York Life in 2014. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Finance and another in Marketing. After graduation, he started a full-time Agent career with New York Life and built a financial practice in Salem Or. In 2018 Jared took on a roll developing agents in the Salem and Eugene areas. He spends much of his free time volunteering in Entrepreneur groups and nonprofits.


Ying Chen

(Born in the Fujian Province of China, Ying and his family migrated to the United States when he was 11 and have been in Oregon ever since.  Ying Graduated from Oregon State University in 2014 with a Bachelors degree in Business with a focus on Finance and Management.  It has always been Ying’s dream to find a career that would provide him and his family financial freedom, while at the same time making an impact to the community and in the lives of others.  He found that calling right after college when he began his career at New York Life.  Ying had a successful 4 year career as an agent, and in 2019 was promoted into management where he feels he can have an even bigger impact in the community, by building a team of financial professionals within the Greater Oregon General Office.  In his spare time, Ying enjoys spending time with his wife and his 2 daughters ages 1 & 3 in Oregon’s beautiful great outdoors!



Blake Mai

Blake started his career with New York Life in 2012, as a College Agent Intern, and joined the Greater Oregon Office full-time in Summer of 2014 after graduating from Oregon State University with his B.S. in Finance and Entrepreneurship. In 2020, after years of building his clientele, Blake was promoted to Partner. He is now dedicated to the development and leadership of his team, the growth of the agency in the Greater Portland Metro region, and continuing to foster lasting community relationships.

A native to the Portland area, Blake now lives in Wilsonville with his wife Trisha. Together, they enjoy traveling, finding new restaurants, volunteering, and boating with friends.

Blake currently holds his state Life/Health Insurance License, and FINRA Series 6, 63, 7 & 66 licenses.

Chad Began his career in the Salem General Office in 2010 with 7 years experience in the banking business.  After achieving Quality and Executive Council levels, he was promoted into management in 2012.  A native Oregonian, Chad grew up in the Central Oregon area where he loves the great outdoors.  He spends his free time playing golf, camping, hunting and fishing.

He has 2 nieces and while he has no children of his own, he has an 8 year old German Shorthair pointer who acts like a child most days.





Sharon Gerlach

Sharon was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana.  Upon graduation from High School, she moved to Missoula, Montana to attend the University of Montana and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, emphasizing in Finance.  During her college years, Sharon was accepted into the prestigious internship program with D.A. Davidson & Co., where she earned her Series 7 & 63.  Sharon moved to Portland, Oregon in 2000 and has worked with McDonald Investments, Northwestern Mutual, Wells Fargo Advisors and M Financial Group.  Beyond her 7 and 63, she also holds her Series 9, 10, 24, 63 and 65 registrations.  Sharon also holds the CLU®, ChFC® and CASL® designations.

In her spare time, Sharon enjoys spending time in the beautiful Pacific Northwest hiking, camping, and volunteering for her local community. 


Carlos Landazuri, CLU®, ChFC®

Carlos began his career in 2001 as an Administrative Manager Trainee in the Greater Oregon General Office. In 2002, he was transferred to the Greater San Francisco General Office, in 2004 promoted to Director of Operations of the Hawaii General office. In 2006 Carlos transferred to the San Fernando Valley office, and in May 2011, was promoted to Corporate Vice President of the Los Angeles and Gtr Pasadena General Offices. In 2013, Carlos returned to the Greater Oregon General Office.

Carlos earned his Chartered Life Underwriter® designation in 2004 and his Chartered Financial Consultant® designation in 2008.

Before he joined New York Life, Carlos graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance. He currently holds series 6, 63 and 99.
